I can’t believe I forgot to tell you….

Two weeks ago, something horrible happened. Something every parent on earth gets excited about and brags about and rejoices over. Every parent except me, apparently.

See that? Little Man got his first tooth!

I’ve been begging him since day one that if he’s going to be a late developer in any area, it should be in the dental department. “No teeth until you reach a year old” has been my mantra. When we reached the five month mark and then the six month mark with no chompers in sight, I really thought I had a chance. That my poor beaten boobs could make it an entire year breastfeeding without knowing what it was like to be chomped on by evil little baby teeth.

Not so much I guess!

But, since this is supposed to be Mason’s baby book, I guess I’ll have to record this horrible much anticipated milestone. First tooth October 2nd 2010.

BIG BOY! congrats… I am sorry mama 😉

monkey got his teeth at 3 months and I BF til he was 16 months- he had 16 teeth when we stopped. I promise it wont be as bad as you think! He might bite you because they are new and he doesnt know what to do with them- I just flicked his cheek (which I am sure some would consider child abuse) and he got the idea after 2 bites. Never did it again- ok I take that back he tried when his top teeth came in a few months later but again a little flick and he stopped. that sounds awful but it works!

    good luck!

He looks a LOT more cheerful than I was when I got my first teeth (my first two basically came at the same time…)

I am NOT a happy teether – luckily I’ve only got my molars left to worry about.

I got my DVDs today – thanks so much!!!

Ouch. My first son didn’t get his first tooth until he was almost 1…Praise God! However, my second got his at 6 months. He only tried biting once. Yes, it hurt…a lot…but I too (like lauren) flicked him in the cheek. Never did it again. 🙂

    Good luck!

Wow! His first tooth. Ariella still has none, and like you, I’ve been happy about that thus far. But, hopefully we’ll be able to get through the teeth and keep right on BF without a problem. Whenever Ariella has “gummed” me, I just say “no” very firmly and delatch her (which she does NOT like). Then, I usually switch sides and let her continue nursing. She doesn’t do it very often, though. So, I’m hoping she won’t try to bite me, or if she does that it’s just once or twice and that she learns not to.
