Where oh Where Has My Good Sleeper Gone?

At least one of us looks chipper….

Every night for the last week, Mason has been waking up  crying and screaming 4-5 times a night. I know a lot of you will not feel any pity for me whatsoever since that’s what babies do (yours anyway)  and that’s okay, but people, I am dying over here!

This is the little boy who has been sleeping through the night since he was about 4 weeks old! He’s slept through colds, shots, thunderstorms, his first two teeth, the weather radio going off, all previous growth spurts, EVERYTHING. And now? He’s not sleeping worth crap. Twice I’ve attempted a middle of the night feeding, and while he will happily eat, it doesn’t stop him from waking up screaming half an hour later.

Oh, and to add insult to injury? He’s decided that he needs to start his day 25 minutes earlier than ever before, which is 10 minutes before I get up for the day. Or used to get up, that is. *sigh*

I am completely at a loss. I’m praying for “worst growth spurt yet” or to wake up one morning and suddenly discover he has 15 teeth or something because, oh my god, I am so tired!!

Help! Commiserate! Point and laugh! I don’t care, just someone make him sleep!!

    I am so so sorry! Is it possible he is teething? Hailey started sleeping through the night early and she started waking up because of teething.

    I hope things get better and he goes back to sleeping through the night!

    I have no advice, but have to say I’m sorry! We’ve had a few stretches like that it is awful, terrible business. Without sleep it’s impossible to feel human!

    Oh man, Niall was doing that for a while. I thought he was sleeping through the night at 4 months old- I was bragging about it!…. and then at 6 months, he started waking up a couple times a week… and then at 8 months, it was 2 or 3 times a night. To this day, he still wakes up in the night at least once a week. Nothing is ever a straight road; it always seems to be 2 steps forward, 1 step back 😉

    I feel your pain. My little one is just over 4 months old, and still wakes multiple times a night. Some days I feel like a walking zombie! Although I suppose it’s worse to know that he CAN and DID sleep through the night! Hope he goes back to being a good sleeper soon. 🙂

    Same thing happened with Pie. She was sleeping great and then she started the several times a night waking. It was brutal. And she just recently started the waking up early.

    I read a bunch of stuff about it and everything I saw suggested making bedtime half an hour earlier. We tried that and so far so good {crosses fingers}

    Hang in there Momma! I know it is totally rough!! Bailey has done this to us several times now, and she always goes back to normal or it gets better. We did try like Sara said the earlier bedtime, and it has helped immensely!! Hope he starts to sleep soon!!

    We’re on the road and I’m using this time to catch up with my “favorites” in my reader to make sure I didn’t miss anything, so yeah, I missed this one. Anyway…this goes back to the comment I just left on your Thanksgiving post, but I feel your pain!!! Both of my kids started STTN at like a month old, so when the rare night comes that they would wake up, it was super hard on me. I have found with Bryce that when he doesn’t sleep all night it is because he has an ear infection. That is the only reason he has ever woken up. Was this when Mason started getting sick, by chance?
